What’s the Best Beach in Phuket?

It’s a killer question that is very difficult to answer: what is the best beach in Phuket? But it’s important to find out the answer – which beach is best for you? Where in Phuket should you book your next vacation? Phuket has so many wonderful beaches, it is hard to crown a winner. Different beaches are best for different reasons. Take a look at this list and see what you think – what is your favorite beach in Phuket? Let us know!

Kata Noi Beach

Kata Noi is the perfect place if you want to be close to the amenities at Kata but you don’t like the crowds. The water is lovely and clear and the beach is peaceful without the noise of other places. Kata Noi won’t stay quiet for long – go and discover it before everyone else does!

Nai Harn Beach

Nai Harn is a sweet little beach and although it is on the west coast it is different from the other, more touristy spots. You can find a patch of sand for yourself and the whole beach is quieter and more laidback. The bay surrounding the beach makes for clear, protected waters and it is a beautiful spot.

Patong Beach

Love it or loathe it, Patong Beach is certainly the most popular in terms of numbers of people. It is full of visitors all year round and full of bars, cafes, restaurants, clubs, and shops. Come here if you want an active, fun time – but don’t come here if you love peace and quiet above all else.

Kata Beach

This beach in Phuket attracts a lot of visitors so you won’t get the sand to yourself, but it is a standout beach with wide stretches of sand and beautiful water. It is not as crowded as Patong but you still find a good selection of bars, hotels, and shops. The nightlife is also good around Kata Beach.

Surin Beach

Surin Beach is highly popular with visitors and attracts many people due to the quality of its water and the wide stretch of white sand. It can get a little crowded, but it is always worth a visit to the beauty of the beach alongside its useful amenities.

Karon Beach

Not as much in the way of nightlife but there is a wide stretch of sand here at Karon Beach and it is a lovely place to relax. Karon Beach doesn’t tend to be as busy as Patong and Kata, and it is a good place for families, couples, and friends alike.

Laem Singh Beach

The greenery and the trees surrounding this little beach give it a tropical feel. The beach is almost always quiet with not many visitors, and you will often have the place to yourself.

Rawai Beach

You can’t really swim here but it is a good spot for sitting and looking out over the neighboring islands, chilling out, and waiting to take a boat to another island. Rawai Beach is at the southern end of the island of Phuket.

Bangtao Beach

This is the longest beach on the island and is located on the west coast. The beach is home to the big Laguna Phuket resort so you will never have it to yourself, but it is a very attractive place.

Laem Ka Beach

Laem Ka Beach is very secluded and hidden away in the south of Phuket. That’s not to say you will always have the beach to yourself, but it is a different place to explore and very pretty.

Kamala Beach

Kamala Beach is a good option for families and couples. There are some good restaurants, some nice shops and bars, and the beach is wide and attractive. The water is always clear in high season and it’s a great spot for a relaxing vacation.

Nai Yang Beach

Located in the north of Phuket, Nai Yang Beach has a laidback vibe and is relatively unknown so you won’t find too many crowds.

Naithon Beach

Naithon Beach on the west coast is also not as crowded as some of the other neighbors. There are some good hotels, though, and the beach is decent with excellent sand and waters.

Ao Sane Beach

There’s hardly anything here on Ao Sane Beach apart from a few beach bungalows and some restaurants – it is very secluded and a great place to go when you want to get away from it all.

Panwa Beach

No swimming at Panwa Beach, which is also called Khao Kat Beach, but you get a lovely vibe and the chance to stay in a standout luxury villa or resort.
