1) Arun Residence
When you want to appreciate Wat Arun, Bangkok’s Temple of Dawn truly, you can sail past it on a boat, or you can sit and enjoy a relaxing meal opposite the temple. Arun Residence is a perfect place for a great view of the temple, and you can take advantage of the delicate Thai dishes and European favorites. A recommended restaurant with great views and lovely food.

2) Thara Thong
Set in the Royal Orchid Sheraton, a traditional-style Thai restaurant is complete with floor-level seating and lots of glowing teakwood and pavilion-style architecture. The Thai food is excellent, with traditional favorites alongside new ideas.
3) Mei Jiang
The Mei Jiang restaurant is part of the posh Peninsula Hotel, situated right beside the Chao Phraya River in Bangkok. It is one of the more elegant riverside restaurants in Bangkok and offers Cantonese food. The big picture windows give great views over the river, particularly at night and as the sunsets. The dim sum is especially worth a try here. The restaurant is at 333 Charoennakorn Road.
4) Sheepshank Public House
The Sheepshank Public House is an American-style, industrial-themed restaurant set close to Pier 13 and offers American fare and dishes worldwide. The restaurant is popular with ex-pats and is a trendy place to spend the evening.
5) Steve Cafe and Cuisine
The Steve Café may not be the most excellent place on the Bangkok river, but it is undoubtedly one of the most popular places where you are most likely to enjoy excellent Thai food with great views. Steve Café and Cuisine is tucked away next to the river and is a cute, quaint little restaurant that has attracted fans through word of mouth. The food is fresh and delicious, emphasizing traditional Thai food and some more adventurous new dishes. To get to the restaurant, take a boat until you reach Dhevet Pier and then head towards the Thevarakunchong Temple. Steve Café is at 68, Sri Ayudhaya Road.

6) Sirocco
Set on the 63rd floor of a popular hotel in Bangkok, the Lebua State Hotel, Sirocco is a short distance from the river and benefits from outstanding views across the water, seeing as you are so high up. The restaurant offers a selection of unique Mediterranean dishes made from fresh ingredients, and it is expensive but worth it for a special meal. Find the hotel and restaurant around five minutes from the Saphan Taksin BTS Station. It is at 1055 State Tower, Silom Road.
7) Benihana
Part of the famous, fun, and stylish Benihana chain is the place to go if you want Japanese food with a riverside setting. Located on the upmarket Anantara Riverside Resort and Spa grounds, Benihana serves teppanyaki – hotplate cooking – and sushi with style. The location is luxurious, and the food is plentiful, tasty, and attractively presented.
8) Sala Rim Nam
The Sala Rim Nam offers excellent Thai food and a Thai extravaganza in dancing and acting. The restaurant is within the Mandarin Oriental Hotel and is set on the river in a lovely Thai-style pavilion with teakwood and high ceilings. It is a special place for a special riverside meal.
9) Bable & Rum
Apart from the bar, part restaurant combination, Bable & Rum is a trendy upmarket place with a terrace overlooking the river and a range of international food, cocktails, fine wines, and beers. The restaurant/ bar is an excellent place for sunset cocktails or for enjoying a complete meal in style overlooking the river.
10) Flow at Millennium Hilton Bangkok
Flow at the Millennium Hilton is the spot for stylish, upmarket riverside dining. There’s also an outdoor terrace for uninterrupted views over the river.
