1) Mekong Delta
In the southern section of Vietnam, the Mekong Delta is a vast, expansive network of rivers, streams, and canals that stretch for miles and miles. The expanse of the Delta is such that it does not attract many tourists, and you can benefit from the tranquil escape it provides from the hectic city life in Vietnam. By taking a boat trip into the Mekong Delta, you can also catch a glimpse of how everyday people live, untouched by the passage of time.
2) Halong Bay
You cannot visit Vietnam without visiting Halong Bay. This is one of the iconic places in Vietnam, and it is beautiful. The landscape is the ocean, and out of the sea, there are limestone cliffs or karsts which tower high into the sky. The combination of the greeny-blue water and the craggy green karsts makes a dramatic sight.
3) Cat Ba
The main town on the island of Cat Ba is not particularly beautiful, but the other parts of the island are beautiful, with rocky headlands and a wild interior. You can get to Cat Ba on one of the tours that come through Halong Bay, and it is an excellent place for hiking, kayaking, and climbing. If you want great views over Halong Bay itself, you should climb to the top of Cannon Fort.
4) Da Lat
Da Lat is located in the heart of the central highlands of Vietnam. It is a quiet and beautiful hill station that is based around Lake Xuan Huong. This is a popular place for honeymoons, and it is blessed with a cool climate and some lovely scenery.
5) Ha Giang Province
In the northeast of Vietnam, this province is filled with surprises. There are jagged mountain peaks, lush green valleys, tiny traditional towns, and some beautiful views. This is an area that tourists largely miss, so it is also supremely tranquil to travel in Vietnam.
6) Mui Ne Sand Dunes
The dunes at Mui Ne are strange as they appear to be in a desert, but green hills surround them. The dunes are stunning and attract many people. The network of small lakes surrounding the dunes is also beautiful.
7) Nha Trang Beach
Nha Trang Beach is in an urban location, but that doesn’t mean it is busy or dirty. On the contrary, this is a naturally beautiful place and is surrounded by picturesque mountains. Nha Trang city is also an excellent place to visit.
8) Phong Nha Ke Bang National Park
This National Park has an impressive attraction, the most significant caves you can enter as a member of the public. You can take a boat ride into these caves and marvel at their immensity.
9) Tam Coc Grottoes
Similar to the formations in Halong Bay, but on the land, the Tam Coc grottoes are the same limestone karsts but this tower up out of rice paddies. There are also caves here that you can visit when you take a boat. Another attraction in the area is the Ngu Nhac mountain, and from here, you get a great view across the entire landscape.
10) Phu Quoc Island
Located closer to Cambodia, this is a Vietnamese island with a tropical style. Phu Quoc Island is blessed with white sands and gorgeous seas and is an excellent place for diving and snorkeling.
11) Con Dao Islands
The Con Dao Islands are isolated and quiet, with a very laidback vibe that attracts people to get away from it all. They are also excellent. Green sea turtles and other wildlife make this a protected eco-paradise. And there are many opportunities for walking on the beaches, swimming, and relaxing.
12) Son Tra Peninsula
Son Tra is a lovely place full of diverse flora and fauna and clean waters with white sands.
13) Sa Pa
The north of Vietnam is home to Sa Pa, which is highly popular for its beautiful views and mountains, hiking, green valleys, and traditional villages. This is a great place to visit when you want to see a little of the hidden side of Vietnam.
