These beachfront boutique resorts are ideal for families, with plenty of space, lovely amenities, and attention to detail that deliver a vacation to remember. 1) Sandalwood Luxury Villas
Located between Chaweng and Lamai, the luxurious Sandalwood Villas provide a great space to get away from it all. The location is fairly secluded so you may need to rent a car if you want to get out and about with the family, or you can stay in the resort and admire the beautiful views. There is no kids club but families will love the peace and quiet, and the access to the beach. Get plenty of pool toys, snorkels, and rafts to play on in the pool or on the beach.

2) Melati Beach Resort & Spa
Set on a quiet stretch of beach at Choeng Mon, the Melati Beach Resort in Koh Samui is secluded so you’ll need a car if you want to explore any more of the island. There is a good kids’ club and a playroom for smaller children, plus the villas and rooms are extremely spacious and many offer large private pools. The beach is gorgeous and the grounds are extensive with plenty of space to explore.
3) SALA Samui
This classy, boutique beach resort in Koh Samui is not specifically geared towards families but they are definitely welcome – the resort is set on a peaceful, secluded beach and there are some lovely private villas that give you all the space you need as a family. The resort is in Choeng Mon and there are 69 villas to choose from. Most villas have their own private plunge pool and there is a large resort pool by the beach. There are no kids’ clubs or kids amenities but you get plenty of help from the staff for making kids feel at home.
4) ShaSa Resort & Residences
If you want your own apartment, the ShaSa resort offers lots of space – you also get a full kitchen. There is no beach as such as the area is very rocky, but you can get the free shuttle to Lamai beach every day. There’s also a kids club to keep the little ones occupied and a small library and kids games.
5) Bo Phut Resort & Spa
Located on Bophut Beach in Koh Samui, this is a large resort that is right on the beach and in a great location for all the attractions like Fisherman’s Village. If you want a spacious accommodation option for the family to choose a pool villa with its own private pool and a small garden. There’s a shallow section of the main pool for children, and also you can take advantage of the many activities and sports for families.
6) Zazen Boutique Resort
This is a cute little boutique resort that welcomes chilled out families and provides a great range of amenities and some lovely food. The bungalows are spacious and you can get one right on the beach, plus enjoy active pursuits like kayaking, paddle boarding, and sailing.
7) Hansar Samui
The saltwater pool overlooking the ocean at Hansar Samui is huge with plenty of space for everyone – and this is a delightful resort for families with a large range of amenities. There’s also a very small baby’s pool close to the main pool, and lots of kids stuff provided in the rooms like stuffed toys and baby baths.
8) Anantara Bophut Resort & Spa
Set on Bophut Beach, the Anantara resort is one of the classic luxury hotels for families in Koh Samui. It’s a large resort with spacious rooms and also a kids club for entertainment. The resort pool is huge and there is even a kids’ menu at the spa, as well as watersports for youngsters.
9) Buri Rasa Village Koh Samui
The boutique Buri Rasa is on Chaweng beach and is a sweet, small hotel with 32 rooms and lots of charm. Many of the rooms are large enough for families and there is also a small resort pool plus complimentary ice cream every day.
