What makes Thailand special? Find out more below.
Exotic Thailand is popular with all kinds of travelers but it has something extra special for those celebrating their wedding, or even a special anniversary. A honeymoon in Thailand offers the whole package – wonderful white sand beaches for some alone-time, gorgeous luxury accommodation, interesting culture, and great food. You’ll also find world-class spas for couples’ treatments, as well as more active pursuits like hiking, watersports, and cooking classes for when you want to get out of the resort.
Where to go? You could tailor-make a special itinerary that includes one or more of the destinations below to create your own perfect getaway for two – the perfect way to celebrate the start of your life together.
1) Krabi
Krabi province in Thailand is a group of 130 islands, most of which are uninhabited. This is the perfect place for a honeymoon – private, tranquil, and beautiful. You’ll certainly find some lovely stretches of sand all for yourselves. There’s not a whole lot to do apart from laze on the beaches, spend time together in the resort, and enjoy the wonderful food – but that’s probably all you want for your honeymoon destination.
Krabi is home to some exclusive resorts. If you are looking to spend a little more on your honeymoon you will find a lot of choices here. And Krabi is a little off the beaten track, so you can truly get away from it all with your loved one.
2) Bangkok
A honeymoon in Bangkok is an unforgettable experience. Many people bypass Bangkok on honeymoon in favor of the beach resorts but we would really recommend staying here a few nights to get a wonderful experience of this mega city. Stay in a sky rise luxury hotel and enjoy cocktails on the roof as the sun sets. Dance the night away at a stylish club. And enjoy eating out in restaurants serving all kinds of food from around the world. The shopping opportunities are also out of this world.
Bangkok is a really lively experience and you’ll enjoy a honeymoon like no other here. Combine Bangkok with some beach action for the perfect stay.
3) Hua Hin
This is the premier beach resort town in Thailand and can be nicely combined with a trip to Bangkok due to its close proximity. There are many top-class resorts here and plenty of opportunities for enjoying golf, watersports, and great restaurants. There’s also the night market and the beautiful Khao Sam Roi Yot National Park in the middle of the ocean.
4) Koh Samui
If you’re looking for a beach honeymoon with some great nightlife, Koh Samui is ideal. This is an exclusive party island with some exotic resorts, wonderful facilities, and great bars and nightclubs. Plus, you also enjoy the stunning beaches and can take part in watersports and other activities. You can also take trips to smaller islands from Koh Samui, and find your secluded spot for a romantic picnic with your spouse.
Koh Samui has a range of beautiful accommodation from beach huts to five-star resorts. Choose a spa resort for the ultimate in honeymoon indulgence.
5) Chiang Mai
If you don’t mind forgoing the beach, Chiang Mai is your ideal honeymoon location in Thailand. Chiang Mai is blessed with mountain ranges and stunning scenery, hill villages, and hiking opportunities. It is a laidback and romantic little place in northern Thailand and the ideal place for an extended stay. If you like to get active with your loved one, go hiking in Doi Inthanon National Park, or try a night safari.
Chiang Mai offers a full range of accommodation from hotels to guesthouses, homestays to hostels. Choose your ideal place depending on your honeymoon budget.
6) Phuket
This is one of the most romantic destinations in the whole of Thailand and it makes a great place for a honeymoon. The setting is truly romantic, with long stretches of beach dotted with palm trees, crystal clear water, and some stunning sunsets. You’ll also find some of the most romantic resorts in the country on this paradise island. If you are on a budget, there are some nice cheaper options available. Phuket has some great spas and you can also party with the rest of the travelers in Phuket Town, or enjoy romantic drinks on the beach as the sun sets.
Phuket is a good option for honeymooners who want the romance of a resort vacation but do not want to pay sky-high prices. Phuket is well known for its range of accommodation options and also for its superior natural surroundings.
