Many people ask the same question – should I travel with kids to Koh Samui? Is Koh Samui a great vacation place for families? Is Koh Samui good for toddlers or babies? The answer is a resounding yes. Koh Samui welcomes kids, families – everyone. And if you want to spend a little extra on a special vacation, Koh Samui has some great luxury hotels for families.
You don’t find the massive family resorts filled with water slides and kids’ nightclubs like you do in the US but Koh Samui is delightfully low-key and perfect for a family vacation. There is no one-size-fits-all resort for kids in Koh Samui. Your perfect hotel depends on your family’s individual needs. 1) Four Seasons Resort Koh Samui
If you want top luxury, top service, top facilities and more, you have to go to the Four Seasons. Located in Bang Po on the northeast coast of Koh Samui, the Four Seasons resort is large with a total of 74 private villas and rooms. The location grants the Four Seasons a tranquil privacy – you are over 45 minutes’ drive from other attractions on the island, so this is perhaps not the best choice for restless teenagers. But for smaller kids and families that want to kick back and spend most of their time in the resort pool, this is perfect.

The Four Seasons has Family Villas that sleep up to two adults and three children and the kids have their own sleeping space. Or you can stay closer to the beach in a Beach Villa that may not have the views but is more convenient for the ocean. The resort has an excellent free Kids Club and it goes all day, every day for children between the ages of 2 and 12. There’s no kids pool but you have your own private one next to your villa. Plus, there are a whole host of extra activities to participate in including kayaking, fishing, boogie boards, soccer, tennis, and more. Menus for kids are specialized and tasty. In all, this is a great choice for families and couples alike.
2) Banyan Tree Samui
The Banyan Tree resort in Lamai is set in its own private bay on the southeast side of Koh Samui. You have all the luxury amenities you need at this place, and for kids, there is a huge children’s pool, great service for families, and a range of kiddies’ activities. Again, this is a large resort with a selection of different private villas. It’s one of the best luxury hotels on Koh Samui.
Banyan Tree also has a kids club with activities all day for children from 4 to 12. There are sports on the beach, plus arts and crafts. The kids’ pool is huge and perfect for day-long splashing. It’s set apart from the main resort pool so you don’t have to worry about disturbing other guests. And every villa has its own private pool, too. In addition, find a games room, a range of beach and water sports, and space for play in the gardens.
3) Conrad Koh Samui
This is a secluded, totally luxurious hotel and one of the top choices for Koh Samui luxury hotels. Plus, it is welcoming to kids and families. Located in a private, tranquil corner of the island at Taling Ngam, the Conrad resort has 64 villas and offers exceptional views. The beach is a little rocky but the pool is amazing. There is a choice of villas for families which offer two or three bedrooms and split living spaces.

The kids club is open every day and offers activities for children between the ages of 4 and 12. Every villa has its own private pool but there’s the main resort pool if you need more space. There are also different activities for families from boat trips to snorkeling, games in the room and kids’ TV. Kids’ menus are decent, and you have a range of restaurant options to try, and there is always the option of room service where you can eat by your own pool.
4) Santiburi Beach Resort, Golf & Spa
This is a great Koh Samui resort for active families. Set right on the sand in Maenam, the Santiburi has 71 rooms and private villas, which includes a range of rooms that are suitable for large and small families. There are a kids club and a kids activity center, a family pool, and lots of activities.
