You haven’t seen Bangkok until you’ve seen it from the stylish environment of a rooftop bar. Bangkok possibly has more rooftop bars than any other city in the world – there’s something about the climate, the abundance of tall buildings, and the dramatic cityscape that makes them mega-popular in the Thai capital. Choose one of these sky-high spots to sip a cocktail as the sun goes down over the city, gaze out over millions of sparkling lights, and enjoy a meal soaring high over the hustle and bustle. Here are our (current) favorite Bangkok sky bars.

1. Vertigo at Banyan Tree Bangkok
One of the most famous rooftop bars and restaurants in the city, Vertigo at the Banyan Tree Hotel is on the 61st floor and overlooks a wide sweep of sparkling lights and dramatic sky. Relax in the super-stylish and comfortable surroundings enjoying a large glass of wine, a cocktail, or a full meal in the restaurant. This bar is pure chic – make sure you dress up for your visit. 2. Sky Bar
Sky Bar boasts a 360-degree viewpoint and this round bar is set 63 stories up the Lebua State Tower – a dramatic place to be with the amazing views over the Chao Phraya River and beyond. Sky Bar is rightly popular and draws locals and tourists alike with its views, cool vibe, and extensive drinks list.
3. 360 rooftop bar at Hilton Millennium
The 32nd-floor bar is another 360-degree special, with a sophisticated vibe and amazing views across the whole of the city. The music is normally jazz and the clientele is smart and chic. Drinks are well-priced for the location making this a must-visit place on your Bangkok to-do list.
4. Park Society at Sofitel So
A little lower in height – 29th floor of the Sofitel Hotel – but not in a status, Park Society is a classy establishment that overlooks the greenness of Lumpini Park and the Siam and Silom skyline. Park Society is not only a nice bar but also an excellent restaurant – the perfect place for a romantic meal for two or a pre-club dinner with friends overlooking the Bangkok cityscape.
5. The Roof @38 Node Sathorn Hotel
If you come to The Roof be aware that there isn’t one – a roof, that is. This rooftop bar is open to the elements which makes it a stunning place to be at sunset on a clear day, but not so much in the monsoon. Located at the Mode Sathorn Hotel on the 38th floor, this bar is impressively high and airy.
6. Distil Rooftop Bar Riverside
If you’re a cultured person who enjoys the finer things in life, visit this 63rd-floor bar and enjoy a selection of fine wines, superb cigars, rare whiskeys, and delicious snacks. Distil is in the Lebua Tower and offers an awe-inspiring view alongside a stylish atmosphere with plenty of comfy seats.
7. Octave Rooftop Bar
If you’re on the Sukhumvit Road you can’t miss this 45th-floor sky bar. Octave Rooftop Bar and Lounge is a stunning place for sky-high drinks overlooking a view that will take your breath away. The ideal spot for a romantic meal or cocktails watching the sunset mellow the city. The bar has three levels and the top one is the place to be for drinks in one of the highest locations in the city.
8. Cloud 47 Rooftop Bar
Set on the 47th floor of the United Center tower, this is a more casual and laidback addition to the rooftop bar set in Bangkok. The drinks prices are reasonable, the atmosphere is friendly and low-key, and you still get the views right out of a Hollywood movie.
9. Zense Siam
The view over the horseracing track and the bustle of the rush-hour traffic is unmissable at Zense Siam. Set on the 17th floor, this is a cool, chic bar for sunset drinks set in the CentralWorld shopping mall. Well worth a visit.

10. Red Sky at Centara Grand at CentralWorld Siam
This bar is high, although it doesn’t have the benefit of a river view. However, on the 55th floor, you get a superb panorama over the city and it is conveniently located right in the shopping area of Bangkok so you can pop in for cocktails after an afternoon window-shopping.
11. Zoom Skybar
On the 40th floor of the Anantara Sathorn Hotel, this bar is a new addition to the rooftop scene. The large bar spreads across the entire roof of the hotel and there is an open air restaurant and bar so you can check out the changing colors in the sky at sunset. The food is good here, too, with an emphasis on French cuisine with an Asian edge.
