Here at PhuketOn we consider ourselves to be experts in all things Phuket. But there are questions even we find difficult to answer – in particular, the popular question “which is the best beach in Phuket?” With such a wide variety of beaches on the island it is impossible to narrow the choice down to one “top” beach. Each beach offers something a little different, from party beaches for youngsters, to romantic beaches for honeymooners, and everything in between. Here are a few of our favorite Phuket beaches. Which one is your top choice?
1. Paradise Beach
Paradise Beach is close to Patong Beach but is much smaller and more secluded. There are rocky cliffs surrounding the ends of the beach and while the beach is very popular, it has a lot of natural beauty in its favor. Best for everyone!
2. Kata Beach
Kata Beach is highly popular and remains a place for all kinds of beach activity from swimming to water sports. This beach is beautiful and lined with shady trees. Best for families.
3. Kata Noi Beach
Head south from Kata Beach and you will encounter the smaller, quieter Kata Noi Beach. This beach is relatively undeveloped compared to many of the beaches on Phuket, giving it a relaxed and peaceful vibe. You won’t find much here to do except rest on the loungers and enjoy the view. Best for solitude seekers, couples.

4. Freedom Beach
Freedom Beach is located in Patong and is often present on a list of top beaches in Phuket, for good reason. This beach is not the most accessible on the island and this is why many people make the trip by boat for a little peace and solitude. Spend the day lounging by the shore, watching the waves and relaxing. Best for couples, friends looking to chill out.
5. Nai Harn Beach
Are you looking for a classically beautiful Phuket beach? Nai Harn beach has soft, white sand and a gentle sea that is ideal for swimming in the high season. Nai Harn Beach is not often packed with people and gives you the chance to kick back and relax in peace, without the crowds. Best for couples, those looking for peace.
6. Banana Beach
In Laguna, Banana Beach has risen in popularity dramatically over the past few years and it is now no longer the peaceful escape it once was. However, this is a seriously beautiful beach and anyone coming here will begin to appreciate how lovely Phuket is. Best for families, friends.
7. Laem Singh Beach
Another beach that has seen a surge in popularity since news got out of its beauty and friendly atmosphere. Laem Singh Beach is often busy and full of visitors but it is still a good place to visit for the scenery and the things to do. Best for families and groups of friends.

8. Nai Thon Beach
Nai Thon Beach in Laguna is part of the Sirinath National Park and is therefore undeveloped and not overly developed – the perfect place to get back to nature and explore the beauty of the island of Phuket. Best for everyone that loves a natural beach.
9. Bang Tao Beach
Also in Laguna, Bang Tao is an outstanding beach with 8km of white sand. The area is home to many upscale resorts. Best for all lovers of a good quality beach.
10. Kamala Beach
Visit Kamala Beach if you want to avoid the crowds at Patong. Kamala Beach has a beautiful stretch of sand and is an ideal place for some watersports and relaxing away from too many visitors. However, there are still amenities here so you won’t have to worry about missing out on cocktails or a place to sit. Best for families.
11. Surin Beach
Surin Beach is a stunning Phuket beach with all the amenities you need, but none of the overdevelopment of Patong Beach. The soft, golden sand and the clear water attract people from all over the island. Best for couples, families, friends.
